Partial closure of the Grand Curtius on 25 June 2025

Due to strike action on Wednesday 25 June 2025, only the exhibition "Françoise Schein. AIPOTU. Portrait à rebours" will be open to the public.

Would you like to explore the fascinating history of the Grand Curtius?

Opened to the public in March 2009 after several years of renovation work, the Grand Curtius, located in the historic heart of Liège on the banks of the Meuse, is one of the major centres of Liège's museums.

This museum site - built around a Mosan Renaissance edifice in the late 16th and early 17th centuries for Jean de Corte, known as Curtius, a wealthy arms and gunpowder merchant - brings together an exceptional collection of art and history over an area of more than 5,000 m². The Palais Curtius, with its red bricks, Meuse stone and mascarons, is a listed building of Wallonia's exceptional heritage and a magnificent showpiece.
